This is a vintage WWII era Royal Rifles of Canada cap badge made of blackened metal that I think may be copper due to the reddish tone showing on some of the exposed edges

Guy Laroche (1923-1989) was a renowned French designer who began his career in 1949 working for Parisian couturier Jean Desses

but it could be a straw mark original to the manufacture (see last two close-up photos)

The flowers are raised on the background and are in colours of purple
